The 11th chapter of Hebrews is always called the great hall of faith. Every person in that chapter did something in the visible realm that was a type and shadow of the person and work of Christ. Noah built an ark; Moses kept the Passover; Abraham offered up his son. These are Old Testament pictures of the redemptive work of Christ. All of these Old Testament characters believed for something that was yet in their future. For those of us who live in the new covenant era, we do not believe for something that is yet to come.
